The Westminster Society Reunion Day Charity

Picture
Imam Monawar Hussain, MBE DL FRSA, High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, read for a BTh at Westminster College between 1995 and 1998, and is a Member of The Westminster Society. He founded the Oxford Foundation, about which you can find out more on their website.

On the day, Monawar was unable to join us as he had been taken to hospital during the night. We hope he is recovering well with his family.

If you would like to donate to support the Oxford Foundation's work please click to be taken to their CAF Donate page.

Thank you.

Our Collection after Chapel raised an excellent £572.70 for the Oxford Foundation

ZOOM Broadcasting

W
e plan to broadcast certain proceedings of the day using Zoom. If anything goes wrong with that plan we hope to record sessions for broadcast later.

These are the items we are asking to be broadcast or recorded. All times are London Summer Time (GMT+1):
 - 11:00 BA Celebration in the Theatre for Group A - Those qualifying in 1963 to 1967
- 13:30 BA Celebration in the Theatre for Group B - Those qualifying in 1968 to 1974
 - 15:00 BA Celebration in the Theatre for Group C - Those qualifying in 1975 to 1980

We apologise for any delay in starting. The turnaround between Sessions B & C is particularly tight. Our planned timings for the evening are:

 - 17:30 to 18:20 The Westminster Society's 2021 AGM
 - 18:30 to 19:15 Chapel Service for Reunion & BA Day,
including O thou who camest from above, led by new Methodist Chaplain, Rev Miriam Moul
 - later than 20:15 (but finished by 21:15) very approx timing of Rev Dr Sir Ralph Waller's after-dinner speech

U1 BrookesBus

You could reasonably comment on the exhaust fumes from the bus but, if we fill the bus, fumes per passenger will be far less than if we drive cars up Harcourt Hill with just one or two people in them.

in Wheatley:
Brookes Wheatley Campus
opposite Tyndale, opposite Kings Arms, Friday Lane
opposite St Marys Church, Park Hill Roundabout

Parking (if you really must!)

The ONLY car park available to us is the main staff car park.
Please do not head for the pool, sports centre, or the art & design area, nor the disabled parking spaces marked on the main OBU campus map. You could be ticketed and charged.

You will find an edited campus map below.

Please enter College campus the same way as when you were a student.

The map on this page should help if you are unsure where we mean. Of course, taking the bus is easier, so do please consider it seriously. You'll want to leave a bit of planet for our great-grand-children to mess up like we have done.

Environmental Policy: The Westminster Society organising team have avoided the use of plastics wherever possible. Plastic drinking cups, for example, are existing stock which we are using up rather than throwing away unused. That really would be a waste.

We cannot vouch for the actions of OBU nor of its service providers.

We encourage you to use the U1 BrookesBus service instead of cars wherever possible.
